Causeway Carpets began manufacturing quality carpets in Blackburn, Lancashire in 1982 and in more recent years has become a division of the Lusotufo Group of Companies which have over 80 years of manufacturing expertise.
2018 sees the reintroduction of Causeway to the UK and Irish markets with carpet ranges developed for a select number of retail outlets which embody the attributes of quality, innovation and service. Our manufacturing facility is wholly vertical enabling strict control over every process from the purchase of raw materials , initial product and colour development and through all manufacturing processes to the ultimate despatch of finished goods. Our in house laboratory operates robust, continuous and random testing procedures to ensure that quality and service remain at the forefront of our mantra.
We understand that in purchasing a carpet you are reliant to a great extent on the skill, knowledge and integrity of the retailer. It is with this very much in mind that Causeway carpets are only available through a select number of high quality stores throughout the UK and Ireland.
Great care is taken to ensure that every one of our carpets that is ordered for sale receives the utmost care and attention from a committed and highly skilled workforce. You can be absolutely confident that subject to regular and caring maintenance, your Causeway carpet will offer the most excellent value for money and will perform accordingly.

Unlike any other fibre, wool has a natural crimp and after footfall, bounces back to its original shape. It is resistant to flattening and any effects of tracking and shading are reduced, thus maintaining an excellent surface appearance over several years.
Wool has an extra protective membrane of microscopic scales which repels water and locks out liquids longer, providing ample time to mop up spillages. Prompt attention to household spillages with clean white paper towels or cloth will address many such problems.
Drop a lighted match onto a wool carpet and it will smoulder and self extinguish within seconds as there is insufficient oxygen to support a fire. Wool is a much favoured firesafe fibre in hotels and other commercial locations for this very reason.
Wool is a 'smart' fibre and has an amazing ability to breath regulating the atmosphere in the home. It also acts as a filter by absorbing many harmful airborne compounds including dust, binding them into the fibre away from the air we breathe.
Wool is a gift of nature! Sheep are necessarily sheared annually providing this wonderful and sustainable resource. It is also biodegradable in soil and provides an abundance of plant nutrients.
Soft underfoot and adding comfort, warmth and sound insulation to the home, wool acts as an insulator improving heat retention and energy efficiency.
Causeway have recently launched carpets consisting of a 100% polyester pile. There are sound reasons for this decision. Polyester fibre which was a British invention is one of the most eco friendly of man made fibres. It has a natural and high level of stain resistance and consumes less energy to produce than other man made fibres.
It is hydrophobic so does not absorb water, has a vibrant and lustrous appearance providing the opportunity for the most superb colour palettes. Causeway polyester ranges have a simply luxuriously soft touch handle, are durable and resist wear. Polyester is easily recycled and its competitive price make it a natural and popular choice for carpets.
